The specific location is the planted courtyard area between the Greek plots and the Thompson Center (see attached photo). We believe the grandeur of the statue and courtyard would complement the rich history of Winston-Salem State University.

All cost of preparing the site and erecting the statue will be the responsibility of the Ram Athletic Foundation and other partners. can leave a lasting legacy that will change lives, speak to what you care about and set a leading example for future generations.

The Courtyard of Champions will become a focal point to draw student athletes, current students and alumni onto the campus during recruitment and other events.

After careful thought and evaluation, the Ram Athletic Foundation Board believe placing the statues on campus will not only benefit student athletes but will be an asset to all students on the campus of WSSU.

This legendary courtyard would also add to the illustrious history of WSSU and can be added to as legends are identified, many who we already know.*
